What else is relevant?
Important information.

If you send to EU, you dont have to pay import fees. If you send to Non-EU, your goods might cause two import charges which are not covered by myGermany:

– Import Duty. Customs will derive these based on value and content.
– Import Tax. You might pay the VAT for your country.

The above mentioned fees cannot be quoted/told by myGermany as the calculation will be done by your country customs. Customs collaborates with our shipping carriers. If charges occur, the shipping carriers will contact you and ask you to pay these.

Some goods with low value are free, they can be imported without any fees. Please check the “de minimis value” details with your customs .

In cases where additional charges may be incurred, the payment will be conducted by our logistics partners and usually you will be charged by them after or while delivery. Usually our partners pay these fees in advance. In certain cases payment may be made directly by you to the customs service.

What else is important?

You: The importer of the goods holds legal responsibility for importing goods, and for the correct declaration of the goods and their value in order to allow for the accurate calculation of the payable customs duties and tax, plus any additional costs that may be incurred in the importing country. Thus we ask you for correct declaration.

myGermany: We execute the preparation of customs documents: pro forma / commercial invoice or declaration, and can handle the customs clearance.

Can customers import Packages from outside EU to myGermany?
Can customers send packages from Non-EU to Germany?

No. As per law myGermany would be liable for importing goods from outside EU for 10 years, and law also request that the importer should be the person who has ordered/paid actually the items from outside EU – thus we are legally not allowed to import. There is no way to import the items for you, unless you are a German residence with German tax and EORI ID or instruct an customs clearance broker (indirect representative) for you. Thus, an rejection of any imports from outside EU to myGermany will automatically happen.

Is there a way to import?
Yes, if you open a Business Account (yearly payment) with us and provide the relevant POAs and documents we will be able to act as indirect representative for Non-German citizens to import from outside EU: https://mygermany.com/de/subscriptions/

How is Import Tax or Customs Duties calculated?

There are not always import taxes and / or customs duties. It always depends on the type of goods and the import conditions of your country, some goods are exempted from customs duties. The basis for calculation is the attached commercial or pro forma invoice, which is generated by myGermany based on your data. Your import customs department will finally define the charges. Please speak to them before you ship if you have any doubts.

What kind of Fees can occur?

In most countries, customs/import duty and a kind of value-added-tax (VAT) can occur. The VAT is in each country different. The rates of customs duties vary from country to country, with the amount depending on the goods.
